Magnetic Fields on Galactic and Extra-Galactic Scales
November 13, 2015 @ 10:30 AM - 3:30 PM GMT
All astronomers are welcome at the RAS specialist meeting on “Magnetic Fields on Galactic Extra-galactic Scales”, on Friday 13th of November 2015 at Burlington
House, from 10.30 am to 3.30 pm.
Magnetic fields are ubiquitous in astrophysics; however, the empirical constraints
on their morphology, magnitude and even existence on the largest astronomical
scales have historically been hampered by the limitations of available
instrumentation. This meeting will summarise and discuss the state-of-the-art
science cases and methodologies being developed and implemented for the next
generation of radio telescopes, which are expected to address many of the open
questions surrounding the evolution and origin of large-scale magnetic fields.
Contributed talks are invited. Talks can be either 15 or 30 minutes long.
To submit an abstract for a talk or poster, please email your abstract to anna.scaife (at) manchester.ac.uk with the subject header RAS-MAG.
